Guide to Porto

Famous for its port wine with historical wine lodges, lovely old district Ribeira (enlisted by UNESCO) full of colourful houses facing the Douro river, dominated by the impressive Luis I bridge – Porto has a lot of character. Its shore is always filled with music and people drinking port and dining. Traditional rabelo boats for wine transportation are always moored nearby. Its churches with the facades covered by azulejo – blue tiles – are as Portuguese as you can see. It’s an extremely attractive tourist destination with plenty of interesting monuments and activities.
