What are the best areas to stay in Barcelona?<\/h2>\n

1. Barrio Gotico area \u2013 for historical marvels & unique atmosphere\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Barrio Gotico – The Gothic Quarter – is most travellers’ favourite part of the city<\/strong>. It offers full immersion in history, proximity of great monuments, but also fantastic nightlife. Here, you will find many tiny bars and restaurants with a lot of atmosphere. It is also great for shopping, with literally hundreds of super-cool boutiques with beautiful clothes, shoes, accessories and souvenirs. Be aware that some part of this quarter may be noisy.<\/p>\n

2. El Born area \u2013 for vicinity to the sea & the best bars in town\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

El Born looks similar enough to Barrio Gotico, and is just as historical. It boasts fantastic nightlife – everyone remains impressed by restaurants and bars of this lively neighbourhood. It is also very pretty and characteristic, with narrow streets and flowers on balconies, and some important tourist attractions<\/strong>. Another great value is that it is located quite close to the sea. It is much prettier than the Barceloneta area directly by the sea.<\/p>\n

3. Eixample area, near Passeig de Gr\u00e0cia \u2013 for Gaud\u00ed & top shopping<\/strong><\/p>\n

Passeig de Gr\u00e0cia is the most elegant and refined avenue of Barcelona. Here, you will find two most famous houses designed by Gaud\u00ed: Casa Batll\u00f3 and Casa Mil\u00e0<\/strong> (La Pedrera), both totally worth a visit. Before you reach them, you will pass along grandiose, exclusive boutiques and flagship stores – some of Spain’s finest. You will find here also many elegant restaurants.<\/p>\n

4. El Raval area \u2013 for budget-friendly options & nightlife<\/strong><\/p>\n

To keep the costs lower, but still be in the very centre of Barcelona, only a few minutes away from La Rambla, look for a place in El Raval. It is called an “Ethnic Neibourhood” of Barcelona, as you will see here more inhabitants from Asia than Catalans. Some parts of El Raval may be slightly dodgy at night, but if you stay close to la Rambla<\/strong>, it is a nice area to stay. It has pretty historical buildings and plenty of great, cheap restaurants.<\/p>\n
