See the best of Maastricht<\/strong><\/a> –\u00a0the oldest <\/strong>permanently inhabited city in the Netherlands<\/strong>. The capital of the Limburg province is a\u00a0beautiful international city with centuries of history<\/strong>, dating back to the ancient Roman settlement.<\/p>\n

Thanks to its unique position<\/strong>, very close to the neighbouring countries, its culture was greatly influenced by three countries: the Netherlands<\/a>, Belgium and Germany<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Moreover, it is renowned for being the birthplace of the European Union<\/strong> – where the famous\u00a0Maastricht Treaty<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0was signed. And that\u2019s where\u00a0the\u00a0Euro<\/strong> was created<\/strong>, too. Apart from all that, it\u2019s an important university and cultural centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
